Interview with Marleen Veldhuis and Inge Dekker

What happened in your life since the World Championships?

Marleen Veldhuis: Three times a world record in 2009, again a gold medal for the Netherlands in the relay 4x100 free in Rome and a bronze in 50 free at the Worlds. And, the most important, I got pregnant and my baby is born on the 2th of June. Her name is Hannah.

Inge Dekker: A lot. In swimming there was a coach-change. After three very nice years with Jacco Verhaeren, now Marcel Wouda is my coach at the national training centre in Eindhoven ? where Verharen is doing his job, too. Still, Jacco and me are still friends. The reason? At the Worlds I was a little bit disappointed about my individual results. I felt I needed new inspiration, so I decided to train with Marcel. New inspiration led me to five gold medals at the European short course championships in Istanbul! Another important change happened in my personal life as I moved with my boyfriend Bas to a new apartment in the city centre of Eindhoven.
